Job Role: Furniture Finisher
Location: Leicester, LE19
Shift: 08:00am to 4:30pm Mon to Fri + Overtime
Pay Rate: £15-£16 per hour depending on experience

Our Client:

An established joinery manufacturer are seeking skilled Furniture Finisher to join their diverse and inclusive team due to company growth. You will be responsible for applying finishes to wood furniture, ensuring high-quality results and seamless integration of finishes with the furniture's design. You will work with various tools and techniques to achieve the desired finish, contributing to the overall quality and visual appeal of our products. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Furniture Finisher and have experience with staining, lacquering and painting. As a Furniture Finisher, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process and contribute to the creation of high-quality furniture products.

Responsibilities:

• Apply various finishes to wood furniture, such as staining, varnishing, painting and lacquering
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, filling cracks, and using sealers as needed
• Match and blend different finishes to achieve desired results
• Inspect finished products for flaws and ensure quality standards are met
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and meet production deadlines

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Furniture Finisher or similar role
• Extensive knowledge of different wood finishes and their application techniques
• Proficiency in using various finishing tools and equipment
• Ability to interpret and work from design plans and specifications
• Attention to detail and quality-focused approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Physical stamina and ability to lift and move furniture as needed

Day-to-day:

• Collaborating with the production team to prioritize and execute finishing tasks
• Applying finishes to furniture pieces with precision and care
• Troubleshooting and addressing any issues with the finishing process
• Maintaining a well-organized and clean workspace
